Vintage Empire Strikes Back Carded Action Figures
Its cast in a very good gold plastic (why oh why won't Hasbro do a classic C-3PO in gold plastic rather than that horrible vac-metalized look that was tacky even 10 years ago!?) with a very, very nice, light wash of "metallic peach" (probably a light a copper or something) that accents the textures and detailing incredibly well. The mold is starting to show its age (even though these things are steel, they'll still wear down after repeated use), but things are still pretty good. Since these toys have been made they have been designed to move and pose in any position that is humanly possible. Probably the most impressive aspect of the toys over the years has been the engineering excellence required to turn the characters depicted in the animated series into working, transforming toys. It's a decent toy, and comes straight from the comics, but you really must see it in person before buying: the paint issues are endemic, so it's really a question of finding the one that has the fewest glaring problems. It's a single, miolded piece of soft rubber, and it fits down over the figure's hair perfectly.
